Levity was good

Long is the way, and hard, that out of hell leads up to light. A tagline of the movie Se7en referring to a rather grisly events in seriatim in the movie but seemingly reflects the boorishness subjected by my extended semester exams this time and the inept service by some Dell technical support personnel. It’s because of this rigmarole process of getting my NEW DELL STUDIO 1558 laptop fixed that had a toll on my schedule which ensued in increased nonchalance during the sems which I generally tend to have no matter how tough the subject. The dystopian first day of my purchase was emblematic of the premonitions that I was to look forward to, courtesy the dysfunctional LAN port which later got resolved a month later with nebulous reasons of improper OS installations rather than a damaged motherboard. In a way I’m glad that all this happened at the incipient stage. Although my friends had warned me of the tyro personnel, but after a first-hand experience I will obviously be more circumspect and unfortunately a little impugned considering I have a 3 year accidental policy.

As far as the sems go I started with my usual routine of starting the sems with a new movie. The one I saw topped the list of movies I had seen this year. The Fountain by Darren Aronofsky is a doleful tale that postures the harrowing stages of its ill-fated tribulation with scintillating special effects of remarkable sophistication. The deft handling of its circuitous presentation by Darren Aronofsky expounding through deliberate circumlocution is its most potent feat, engaging viewers to contemplate with their own visceral interpretations, which never vitiates its sheen. In fact I went through tons of blogs with myriad comments proposing an alternative version of the plot. The one which I agreed was the reincarnation one which might propel some to tag it as hackneyed but it has like all other movies of such nature a unique touch that sustains untenable aspersions.

I had enough holidays at my disposal this time in subjects requiring not so stringent preparations making way for perusing through slides of the dreadful ACA(Advanced Computer Architecture) and its obfuscating book by Tai Hwang but everything went haywire right after the first exam. Well it had to go that way, coz since the day my lappy repaired, I HAD INTERNET BACK. That meant watching videos on net, shockingly not possible on my desktop with Debian installed on it, despite the various upgrades to the adobe player. Those hilarious Robin Williams acts and the alacrity at the prospect of the final season of LOST. The occult and mystifying series came to an end on 23 May, and this is the one thing I am looking forward to the most in these two months apart from the proverbial lock-step procedure I need to follow for the placements and CAT 2010 and the oneiric world of Inception.

Ruminating on the past 3 years I can’t deny the fact that I have been intermittently supine, dilly-dallying on career prospects and ultimately doing the most unexpected stuff I never imagined I would be doing, like writing this blog for instance. Although Robin Williams had a different take on peccadilloes in Good Will Hunting, Apostasy to my facile execution, insouciance and the peremptory brainstorming sessions are on the anvil. A deadlocked conundrum lies ahead, and I have been left with the Hobson’s choice. My inspiration: the pithy, baleful n steadfast Kevin Spacey in Se7en.
